Frequently Asked Questions

Let clarity take flight.

General Questions

  • Some of our services (Pellet hormone injections, IV infusions, intramuscular vitamin injections, aesthetic treatments, direct primary care) are only offered in the clinic. For everything else, feel free to choose what works best for your lifestyle- Some people prefer the ease of online ordering and others prefer an in-person experience.

  • Birdie online store and Birdie clinic use different EHR systems to store your data. For example, if you originally ordered online and later visit the Birdie clinic for in-person services, your information doesn’t transfer and will need to be completed again.

  • To order and get approved online, follow the prompts in the online store. For in-person services at our Lake Arrowhead, CA clinic, schedule a clinic appointment HERE.

  • All of our products require an exam with a licensed provider. We offer free, no pressure consultations online or in the clinic.

  • We do not accept insurance, but our products and services are HSA/FSA supported.

  • Birdie uses a HIPAA compliant EHR system. Please see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for more details.

  • Birdie works with licensed pharmacies across the U.S. to ensure medications are dispensed safely, legally, and only with a valid provider prescription.

GLP-1 Questions

  • GLP-1 medications are designed to work like a natural hormone in your body that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. They can help you feel satisfied longer, slow digestion, and curb hunger—supporting weight management for some people when used with provider guidance and healthy habits.

  • Both medications work with your body’s natural hormones that help control blood sugar and appetite—but they do it a little differently.

GLP-1 (semaglutide) mimics one hormone called GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). It helps:

    • Reduce appetite and cravings

    • Slow digestion so you feel full longer

    • Improve blood sugar control

GIP/GLP-1 (tirzepatide), is a dual-action therapy that mimics two hormones:

    • GLP-1 helps with fullness and blood sugar

    • GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) further supports insulin response and may enhance fat metabolism and appetite control

Because it targets two pathways instead of one, GIP/GLP-1 meds often lead to:

    • Greater weight loss for many people

    • Stronger blood sugar improvements

    • Similar or sometimes better appetite suppression

  • Response times differ. Some individuals notice changes within the first several weeks, while it may take longer for others. Results depend on many factors, including adherence to the program, lifestyle habits, and individual biology. Your provider will monitor your progress over time.

  • GLP-1 medications are typically administered as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection with a small needle. Your medication will come with specific instructions on proper technique, injection sites, and safety as well as a link to a video demonstration.

  • GLP-1 medications are typically administered once per week, however, dosing schedules vary by medication and by individual treatment plan. Your prescribing provider will determine the appropriate frequency and adjust it as needed based on your response and tolerance.

  • Yes! We offer sublingual GLP-1 and GIP/GLP-1 medications that are administered under the tongue. The medication is absorbed into the bloodstream and bypasses the digestive tract. These medications are typically taken daily.

  • The length of time someone uses a GLP-1 medication varies from person to person and depends on individual health goals, response to treatment, and guidance from a licensed healthcare provider. Some people use it short-term, while others may use it longer under medical supervision.

  • Everyone’s body responds differently. Some people may notice changes after stopping treatment, especially if lifestyle habits aren’t maintained. Long-term outcomes depend on many factors, including nutrition, activity, and ongoing care. Your provider can help you plan for transitions if treatment is changed or discontinued.
